Do British citizen's need a residency permit in Crete?

Yes, at the moment British passport holders wishing to stay in Crete for more than three months need to obtain a residence permit. However, there is no enforcement and no active checking of theses permits. In general you really need not bother, but for opening a business or buying a car in Crete you definately need one.

Our advice is simple you need to get a residency permit you need to visit your local police station with your passport and at least 2 passport sized photographs.
